Most smoking situations (habits) cause you to smoke more than any lack of nicotine in the body. A “habit” is a routine. Smoking cigarettes is a habit and a psychological dependency.

You believe that you must have or need a cigarette.

Your self belief system and their associations make you start smoking. If you experience a stressful day, you could start thinking, ‘Why have I given up smoking?’ (your dependency – a subconscious coping strategy for stress). Your subconscious goes into a conflict with your conscious mind, weakening your resolve. However, your subconscious mind is powerful and can manage your cravings, strengthening your resolve. When your subconscious co-operates with your conscious mind, positive thinking is easier, for instance your reaction to stress might be: ‘that was a stressful day, I’m glad I’ve quit smoking because I have more energy now.’ Hypnosis changes how you feel about smoking, you appreciate your enhanced energy levels has got better, how good your food tastes, the aroma of coffee, etc. Once the smoking belief is modified, conscious and subconscious mind in agreement, it is easier to become a non-smoker.
